"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination." -Carl Rogers
Therapy Tailored to You
Serving Center City, Philadelphia and online across PA and NJ
You are likely here because you are stuck, struggling, or want something different in your life. For over a decade I’ve worked with individuals to better understand themselves and their relationships so that they can lead more vital and fulfilling lives, unburdened by fear and shame.
Everyone deserves a time and a place to understand their internal world, heal from painful experiences, and move towards finding more meaning in their lives and relationships.
Areas of Specialization
CLIENTS
I work with a broad range of adults from adolescents to seniors. Some of the issues I especially enjoy working with include
Perfectionism
At it's core, perfectionism is a persistent focus on failure. And while a fear of failing may provide motivation at times, it can also lead to chronic anxiety, dissatisfaction, procrastination and disconnection. We can work together to gain insight into the roots of your perfectionism and find new ways of relating to yourself.
Grief and Loss
Grief is natural part of the human experience, but can feel overwhelming and isolating. Together we can process the varied emotions and navigate how to integrate the loss in a meaningful way while continuing to find a path forward in this new reality.
Childhood Wounds
It can be easy to dismiss difficult relationships and events in childhood as "no big deal" since they are commonplace. But these experiences tend to have significant impact in how we relate to ourselves and others even as adults. I am trained in EMDR, an evidence-based intervention, that can assist in processing overwhelming past experiences and diminishing present day triggers.
OCD
OCD is sometimes called the "doubting disease" because uncertainty feels so intolerable to the person suffering. But this can present in a myriad of ways, and symptoms can be misunderstood as a result. I can help you make sense of what can feel like mental gymnastics and find some relief using a combination of Exposure Therapy (ERP) and Mindfulness.
